Movers in Los Angeles

Downtown high-rises, Hollywood apartments, Westside condos, South Bay houses. We've moved every kind of LA building over five decades — COIs, freight elevators, loading zones, and all.

Neighborhoods we move every week

Los Angeles is a hundred cities in a trench coat, and each neighborhood has its own moving quirks. Here's where we work the most and what to expect:

  • Downtown / DTLA — Bunker Hill, South Park, Arts District, Fashion District. High-rise COIs are universal; freight elevators tight; loading docks usually available with reservation.
  • Mid-City & Koreatown — older walk-ups, lots of stair carries, meter parking that needs early-morning bagging.
  • Hollywood & West Hollywood — mix of high-rises (Hancock Park, the Strip) and 1920s walk-ups. Movie-industry permit dynamics affect parking some weekdays.
  • Westside — Brentwood, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Culver City, Mar Vista, Venice. Mix of high-rises, condos, and single-family homes. Parking is the limiting factor.
  • South Bay — El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo. Single-family homes and townhomes; tighter alleys, narrow streets.
  • Silver Lake / Echo Park / Los Feliz — hillside homes with stairs and narrow access; we plan crew size accordingly.
  • South LA — Single-family neighborhoods with standard residential access; minimal building complications.

What's different about moving in LA

Three things make LA moves a specialty, not a commodity:

  1. Building requirements. Most high-rises and managed condo buildings require a Certificate of Insurance with specific named insureds and limits. We file these at no charge — usually same-day when you send us the template.
  2. Loading zones & parking. LA's street-parking enforcement is aggressive. We arrive early to claim a legal spot; when buildings require shuttle service (smaller truck), we quote that up front.
  3. Move-in hours. Many LA buildings restrict moves to 9 AM–5 PM weekdays. Some allow weekend moves with a building fee; we coordinate with property management.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a local LA move cost?

It depends on the size of your inventory, the crew you need, and the distance between origin and destination. We quote in writing before booking — see how pricing works for the full breakdown. Most studio/1BR moves run a few hundred dollars; most 3BR homes run a low thousand-range.

Can you provide a COI for my LA building?

Yes, at no charge. Send us the template from your property manager — usually a one-page form — and we'll file it before move day.

How early should I book?

Two to four weeks for a typical LA move; longer (4–6 weeks) for first-of-the-month dates and the June–August peak.
